FAQs

HOW OFTEN DOES COUNSELLING TAKE PLACE?

Sessions are weekly and at the same mutually agreed time each week.

HOW LONG DO SESSIONS LAST?

Each session is 50 minutes long.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I GET IN TOUCH?

I will get back to you within 2 working days.

I offer a free 20 minute phone call, at a mutually agreed time, if you would like to find out more or to arrange a session.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE FIRST SESSION?

At the first meeting we will explore some of the concerns that have brought you to counselling. I will explain more about how I work and answer any questions you may have. We will decide whether counselling may help. If so, we will agree a course of sessions. If you think it's not for you, I encourage you to look elsewhere. There is no commitment to continue after a first session.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

Perhaps just a few sessions is enough for you to explore your struggles and concerns. Maybe you want to dive deeper and feel the support and benefit of longer term work and personal development. If you choose to work with me long-term, we will periodically review the process and whether it continues to be helpful.

I will support you for however long you decide to come for counselling.

HOW MUCH DO SESSIONS COST?

Sessions are £70I occasionally have a concessionary place (£60) available so you are welcome to enquire about this.

HOW DO I PAY?

Payment is by bank transfer 48 hours in advance of the session.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL?

I require a minimum of 48 hours notice if you need to cancel a session, otherwise full payment is expected before the next session. I am currently not able to reschedule sessions for alternative days.

WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO SEE POSITIVE CHANGES?

It can often take some time for you to notice changes and you may feel worse before you feel better. It requires that you commit to attending regular sessions.
